BeFare

Yesterday I had a free and frank exchange of views with my old chums in the BeFare organisation discussing our shared opposition to the so-called Northern Route of East West Rail.

We agreed on so much, the sheer lunacy of what has been proposed by East West Rail and the sadness of such a missed opportunity being the main areas of agreement.

We also spent a lot of time talking about how awful the building process is going to be for Bedford and the wider Borough. The construction process alone is going to be particularly grim and we have spent much time working out what this would mean for Bedford. Every business and resident will be affected, most suffering tremendously as the town is cut in two during the construction.

It also seems to me that they are very light on a number of important details which is especially concerning. One particular area of concern is just how Bedford Hospital will operate without a car park. This is just one of the little details that EWR seem to have brushed over.
