Yesterday, in the Harpur Suite yesterday we awarded, for the the first time ever, the Stars of Bedford Borough Council Awards.

In my opinion there are two ways of managing a big organisation. One is to stand at the top and shout at everyone to work harder while being perpetually angry, the other is to take great pride in your team and to reward those that work hard.

All of these people were nominated by their peers within the organisation and I had great pride in handing out the awards.

I had the tough gig of having my picture taken with some of the hardest working, most under-appreciated people, you will ever meet. Most of them working with the most vulnerable in society.
